Trinity Academy Year 11 enjoyed a wonderful Prom at the Academy on Friday 29th June. It was a sunny evening and 150 students, a record number, arrived in an array of stunning outfits. A large crowd of friends and family came to enjoy the arrivals and all of the ladies looked wonderful in brightly coloured gowns, whilst sharp grey suits were the order of the day for the men.
A wide range of vehicles transported the party goers including; horse drawn carriages, stretch limousines, stretch hummers, a coach with on board disco, motor bikes, an ambulance, robin reliant, tandem, ice cream van and even an Egyptian litter, complete with eight slaves, in matching outfits, carrying two dazzling Year 11 ladies.
The hall was decked out with balloons, flowers and formally laid out table ware and a three course meal was followed by fun awards, including the biggest smile in Year 11, the student most likely to be a millionaire and the student with the best excuses. Attendance awards were also given for each tutor group.
After a few words from Mr Brew, the Principal, and a vote of thanks from the students led by Ellie Weatheald and Thomas Taylor, the students mingled and enjoyed this important time in their lives which recognises the end of their formal education.
The chocolate fountain, disco and professionally taken photographs filled the rest of the evening, not forgetting a fun dance performed by Year 11 tutors and choreographed by Mrs McArthur.
A big thanks goes to Mrs Brown, Mr Ashton, Mrs Price, Mrs Pashley and Mr Thurlow, as well as the tutors and senior staff who organised the whole event, but especially to every member of Year 11 who made this a wonderful night to remember.
