Technology

The Technology department (incorporating Engineering) is responsible for the delivery of  “Design and Technology” in the Trinity Academy, as determined by the National Curriculum.

Course Outline/Overview

 

Key Stage 3

This is a core subject for all Key Stage 3 (years 7, 8 and 9) students and covers the following topics:

 

  • Designing and Manufacturing Products in Plastics
  • Designing and Manufacturing Products in card
  • Designing and Manufacturing Products in Timber.
  • Motor Vehicle Design
  • Architectural Design. 
  • Designing Products in Metal
  • Designing and making Electronic Products

 

Key Stage 4. (GCSE and Btec)

In years 10 and 11 both GCSE and Btec courses are on offer. These courses are optional in nature and comprise of.

 

  • Graphic Products Technology (GCSE)
  • Resistant Materials Technology  (GCSE)
  • Motor Vehicle Technology  (Btec)
  • Engineering Technology  (Btec)



Key Stage 5.

We currently offer AS level is Technolgy which can be taken in either year 12 or 13.
