The science department is a successful and dynamic department within Trinity Academy.
We have seen a steady improvement in results in all Key Stages since the Academy opened in 2005. This success is based on the hard work and commitment of staff and the excellent learning resources in the department.
The department now offers a wide range of courses to meet the needs of all of our students from the vocational BTEC and Science Plus courses to the highly academic Triple Award GCSE Science.
In Key Stage 3 the department believes in fast tracking able students to complete Key Stage 3 in two years, whilst offering most students a thorough grounding in Science over three years.
Separate ‘A’ Levels in Science are currently available in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Science is a core subject for Key Stage 3. Normally this lasts the duration of years 7, 8 and 9. However some students are able to complete the course in 2 years - 7 and 8. The course topics listed here refer to the normal three year course, there may be some slight variation for the two year course although they cover the same basic material.
