Mathematics

The Mathematics department at Trinity Academy has a very experienced staff of 13 and excellent resources including 2 computer rooms, graphical calculators and a full suite of software.

 

In years 7, 8 and 9 students follow the National Strategy. In years 10 and 11 students follow the AQA Specification A. In Years 12 and 13 a variety of courses are available, these include a re-sit mathematics course for those students that just missed out on a grade C, AS and A level courses in Mathematics and AS and A level courses for students wishing to study Further Mathematics.

 

Course Outline/Overview

 

Key Stage 3

Mathematics is a core subject for all Key Stage 3 (years 7, 8 and 9) students and covers the following topics over the three years:

  • Number
  • SSM
  • HD

 

Key Stage 4

GCSE Syllabus: AQA Specification A

 

Again this is a core subject and we offer to GCSE options - foundation maths and higher maths. These are covered in Years 10 and 11.
