STUDENTS put on some shrewd performances as they entertain audiences with a classic Shakespeare production this week.
Sixth formers and A level Theatre Studies students at Trinity Academy, in Thorne, near Doncaster, took to the stage with their version of The Taming of the Shrew.
The school's sixth form play has now become an annual event, following the success of last year's performance of Much Ado About Nothing.
This year, students gave an action-packed performance - a romantic comedy with an array of feisty characters.
The famous story centres on Bianca, the youngest daughter of Baptista, who has an army of suitors, and her sharp-tongued, temperamental sister Katherina.
When Baptista declares that Bianca cannot marry before her sister, the race to find a husband for Katherina begins in earnest, with a host of comical and tragic moments along the way.
Academy Principal Ian Brew said: "Last year's sixth form production was extremely well received, so we are delighted to be making it an annual event.
"Everyone involved in this year's play has put in a tremendous amount of hard work."
