The King’s Academy intake policy follows that laid down within its agreement with the Department for Education and works alongside the established practices already in place for all maintained secondary schools in Middlesbrough.

The King’s Academy does not take up its option of selecting up to 10% of its students on ability or aptitude and the intake is therefore wholly comprehensive. It does, however, reserve 100 places in total for students who have Statements of Special Need with regard to deafness, hearing and/or visual impairment and moderate learning difficulties.
