At The King’s Academy the official school day is between 8:25 am and 3:45pm Monday to Thursday, with an earlier finish of 2.15pm on Friday.
The school is open either side of this time frame to allow students to use facilities such as computer systems and the library. There are also extra curricular activities hosted outside this normal day.
The structure of the day is:

| 10.30 – 10.50 am | Morning break |
| 10.50 – 11.35am | Period 3 |
| 11.35am – 12.20pm | Period 4 (lunch: Years 7 and 8) |
| 12.20 – 1.10pm | Period 5 (lunch: Years 9 and 10) |
| 1.10 – 2.00pm | Period 6 (lunch: Years 11, 12 and 13) |
| 2.00 – 2.15pm | Afternoon registration |
| 2.15 – 3.00pm | Period 7 |
| 3.00 – 3.45pm | Period 8 |
