Career Opportunities at The King's Academy

A Welcome from the Principal

The King's Academy has recently been named as the most improved secondary school in the North East by The Guardian. This reflects the success we have enjoyed in tripling the number of students who achieve 5 A*-C grades at GCSE and in our significantly improved CVA Score. We have also recently been rated by Ofsted as "A good school with many outstanding features" (February 2009).

The successes we have enjoyed to date are due in no small part to the excellent teamwork and cooperation that exists between staff, parents and students. We are all involved in the role of education, and rely on one another for the successful outcomes that we achieve.

The King's has a unique and outstanding inclusion policy, embracing specialist provision for students with Deaf/hearing impairment, blind/visual impairment and moderate learning difficulties. Every child is supported and encouraged to achieve their "Personal Best", regardless of their ability or disability.

We set and maintain the very highest academic standards, and are committed to further building on our current success in the years to come. We also have a vibrant Sixth Form, where many do well in their A-Level studies and go on to Higher Education thereafter. The opportunity for our teachers to teach A-Level is, of course, both thoroughly rewarding and a wonderful career development opportunity.

If you want to join us, above all, you will share our passion for excellence. To find out more, see our brief careers DVD by clicking here.
