GIRLS FINISH STRONGLY

Our Year 7 girls, have, like the boys, won no silverware this year. However, in their final competition against nine other schools they came very close. Caitlin Gardner set the ball rolling with a great win in the discus and then at last Dominika Iwaniuk gained her just reward for a year of hard work by taking the 1500m title. In the end Whickham were just too strong for our girls but they can be very proud of a magnificent second place.
Our Year 8 girls have looked strong throughout the summer and it was no surprise when they retained their title. Although Amy Fuller in the 800m was their only champion they finished in the top 3 in 9 events, giving them a points total of 104, well clear of St.Thomas More in second.
