There are many sound, practical reasons for having a compulsory College uniform. Perhaps the most obvious reason is that it removes the burden of having to decide what to wear each day. More importantly, however, our uniform has a great deal to do with Emmanuel College's ethos. Students are encouraged to take pride in themselves and their appearance at all times. Parents are asked to give their vital support in maintaining the very high standards by adhering to the lists set out below and using the College's approved suppliers - the John Cheatle Group.
Items can be purchased from the College's on site uniform shop or via the website: www.schoolwear-centre.co.uk.
Parents of Year 7 starting in September should telephone 0758 439 1221 to arrange an appointment.
Note: Items marked * must be purchased from our approved suppliers.

All boys will need a pair of black rugby/football boots.
All students will need a pair of plain, all black stout outdoor training shoes and shin pads for work on various all-weather surfaces.
All footwear can be purchased from Academy Schoolwear, but this is not compulsory.
A range of bags can be purchased from Cheatles. Bags should be robust, of darker colours, with no dominant logos, and large enough to carry an A4 size folder.
Overcoats should be a plain dark colour - black or navy with no logos. Students are recommended not to bring valuable coats to school.
Sixth Formers wear a distinctive uniform designed to project a professional, business-like image. Sixth Formers are naturally a focus of inspiration to younger students and the way in which they dress sets a lead; a high standard is set accordingly.
The Sixth Form uniform consists of a black blazer and black trousers for boys and a dark suit for girls. The P.E. kit and shoes are the same for the Sixth Form as for the rest of College.
Students playing rugby or hockey are advised to wear a gum shield for their own safety and protection.
