Geography

The Geography Department staffing comprises five members of staff. Lessons are taught in a suite of three dedicated classrooms.

Course Outline/Overview

Key Stage 3

All students at Emmanuel College study Geography at KeyStage 3. For further details on the course structure please see this file: 'EC KS 3 Geography Overview'

Key Stage 4

Geography is offered at GCSE and is one of the core subjects.

GCSE Syllabus: AQA C Geography 4030

The course looks at aspects of physical, human and environmental geography and concentrates especially on the relationship between people and their world.

The course is thus very practical, looking at how we can manage the problems that confront us at this time. Students will be trained in decision-making techniques; this makes the course popular with employers who value the Geography student’s ability to deal with information on maps and from graphs and charts as well as from written sources, to make informed, practical decisions.

Key Stage 5
